Sooyon Kim
Material: Textile
Origin: Seoul, South Korea
Multidisciplinary creative director Sooyon Kim’s strength fluctuates between meticulous design and thought-provoking symbolism. Kim’s one-of-a-kind pieces predominantly feature two distinct elements: fabric and stone.
Fabrics are sourced from textile studio Limn Seoul, which was founded by Kim and champions traditionally produced fabrics such as hemp and ramie (mosi) by local artists in South Korea.
Stone represents memories, narratives, and history. Imbued with acts of prayer, pebbles become Kim’s vehicle to express her well-wishes for the space and the people within it.
